We are reaching out Odessa Arts organization with a unique and transfor mative proposal: the creation of the first-ever Ecuadorian Cultural Festival in the city of Odessa.
This landmark event will not only celebrate the vibrant arts and traditions of Ecuador but will also open a new chapterin the cultural history of the city. Unlike any previous event, our festival is a pioneering initiative that seeks to establish a lasting connection between the Ecuadorian community and the diverse population of Odessa, enriching both.
This festival aims to highlight the talent of Ecuadorian artist and entrepreneur. Through music, dance, visual arts, and gastronomy, we will showcase the richness of our heritage. This economic component is crucial, as it will provide a vital platform for small businesses to grow and connect with a wider audience.
The festival’s impact will resonate far beyond artistic expressions. As the first event of its kind, it will generate significant interest,
attracting visitors from across Texas and beyond.
This, in turn, will have a direct positive effect on the local economy, boosting tourism and business for Odessa’s hotels, restaurants, and shops.

Este evento emblemático no solo celebrará las vibrantes artes y tradiciones de Ecuador, sino que también abrirá un nuevo capítulo en la historia cultural de la ciudad. A diferencia de cualquier evento anterior, nuestro festival es una iniciativa pionera que busca establecer una conexión duradera entre la comunidad ecuatoriana y la diversa población de Odessa, enriqueciéndolas a ambas.

I retain full copyrights, but I grant the festival a royalty-free license to display and publish my work. OFFICIAL CALL FOR ENTRIES: «ECUADOR EN PINCELADAS» 2026
1st Art Contest – «The Middle of the World» Festival
The organizing committee invites artists from Odessa, Midland, and the surrounding Texas regions to participate in this prestigious competition, designed to highlight Ecuadorian culture through the talent residing in the United States.
I. CONTEST RULES
1.1. Theme: «Ecuador en Pinceladas» (Ecuador in Brushstrokes). The artwork must be a personal interpretation of Ecuador (landscapes, ethnic groups, folklore, architecture, or abstract art inspired by the country).
1.2. Participants: Open to artists 15 years of age and older.
Note: Participants under 18 must complete a parental/guardian authorization form, which is available directly at the registration link.
1.3. Technique: Open Technique (Oil, acrylic, drawing, mixed media, etc.).
1.4. Exhibition Requirement: It is strictly mandatory for the artist to deliver their work on the day of the event with their own easel (display tripod). Works without their own support for public viewing will not be accepted.
II. THE JUDGING PANEL
For this edition, we feature a high-level panel of experts:
Elizabeth Mateus: Renowned Ecuadorian Painter.
Martin Gonzalez: Artist and Founder of Odessa Hispanic Art.
Professor Christopher John Stanley: Distinguished academic and visual artist.
III. DIGITAL PHASE (EVALUATION)
Artists must submit their proposal via email for jury evaluation no later than:
MAY 15, 2026, AT 11:59 PM.
3.1. Submission Specifications
Format: High-resolution JPG or PNG (minimum 300 dpi).
Quality: Photos must be well-lit, centered, and without frames (canvas/paper only).
Quantity: Submit one (1) photo of the full artwork and two (2) «detail» photos (close-ups) to appreciate texture and brushwork.
Documentation: Attach a technical sheet (title, dimensions, materials) and a brief artistic justification explaining the work’s connection to Ecuadorian culture.
IV. SCHEDULE AND LOGISTICS

V. REGISTRATION AND PRIZES
Registration Fee: $30 USD (Non-refundable).
Prizes: Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place.
Recognition: International Certificates of Artistic Excellence and Special Mentions for technique and originality.
VI. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS
The artist is responsible for ensuring the work is exhibition-ready (dry and mounted). The organization reserves the right to decline the exhibition of works that do not match the photos submitted in the digital phase or that do not provide the required easel.
